Note to Band Parents: The Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands needs your help in whatever way you can for the day of the event and for food and equipment donations as well. If you are holding back from volunteering to be able to see your child perform, please remember that although Mt. Carmel performs at this event we are not competing. WE NEED ALL HANDS ON DECK - PLEASE GIVE AS MUCH TIME AS YOU CAN!! Thank you to all our tournament volunteers, including our top three volunteers:

Volunteer InformationOur Tournament volunteers are the heart and soul of what makes this event so successful each year. They are there from the time the very first bus arrives in the morning until the campus is closed down at night. The Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands and the Mt. Carmel Music Foundation thank you for all of the hard work, support, smiles, and dedication that goes into making the Tournament such a long standing tradition of success. Important parking information for vounteersThere is no volunteer parking in the Mt. Carmel High School parking lot. Please arrive early and park in the neighborhood around Mt. Committee DescriptionsThe Concessions CommitteeThe responsibility of concessions is to provide food and drinks to the visiting bands and the spectators, including booking and organizing outside vendors. This committee is located in front of the school, and on the home side and visitors side of the stadium. Food sales and delivery volunteers are needed. The Visitors side opens for trade during the afternoon to support band students now viewing the field show. The Facilities CommitteeThe responsibility of the facilities committee is to organize and manage parent and student volunteer teams for setting up and tearing down all tournament related equipment. This includes ordering and setting up all signs, coordinating and working with the custodians to manage trash removal, portable toilets and restroom maintenance, developing a plan for setting up electrical power, lights, tables, chairs, canopies, trash & recycling cans, and other maintenance related items. The Sales CommitteeThe responsibility of sales is to help search out sponsors who have advertised with us in the past and new advertising opportunities for our program. This committee is also responsible for selling programs on the day of the event on the parade route, and at the stadium and parking lot. The Field Show CommitteeThe responsibility of the field show committee is to direct the bands as follows: getting bands into the warm up area, clearing a path across the parking lot for bands in transit, confirming the location of bands, linking the escorts and band directors in preparation for moving to the field, aligning this move with the visitor�s and home ramp volunteers to coordinate the pit and bands as they move into the stadium, guide the pit crew set-up, final field gate entry, and aligning bands and awards for the awards ceremony. The Parade CommitteeThe responsibility of the parade committee is to direct the bands as follows: parade marshaling and directing the bands from MCHS parking lot to Carmel Mountain Road, then to the warm up area, through the silent area, and finally to the competition area. Some will need to direct bands back to MCHS, and organize volunteers to assist traffic control and locating bands on campus. The Hospitality CommitteeThe responsibility of the hospitality committee is to provide a place where the Directors and Staff of visiting bands can relax and refresh, taking in nourishment as needed. The Ushers CommitteeThe responsibility of the ushers is to seat spectators and performers, and to close the aisles to prevent disruption of the performances. Ushers will also set up seating blocks on the visitor side and assist those who have difficulty negotiating the bleachers. The only individually reserved seats will be in the Mt Carmel 50 yard line reserved section, and reserve seating will be determined by the color of the wristbands given to our patrons. The Merchandise CommitteeThe duties of the merchandise committee are to sell items with a tournament theme which will promote the tournament and make a profit for the organization. In the past the committee has sold sweatshirts, tee shirts, pins and patches. We are looking for friendly people who are willing to actively promote and market the tournament merchandise, and not just sit at the merchandise table. The Parking CommitteeThe responsibility of the parking committee is to only allow vehicles displaying passes onto the campus and maintain open fire lanes throughout the campus. Attendants will be at both upper and lower gates controlling the traffic flow. We will also be selling parking spots for the evening performance. The Security CommitteeThe responsibility of the security committee is to maintain a safe and secure campus on the day of the event, and work alongside the parking committee who is supported by contracted Police and Medics. The Judge's Liason CommitteeThe responsibility of the judge's liaison is to support the scoring and recording of scores for the field show and parade, and to coordinate with Judges, Announcers and other officials on the day of the event. This committee also seems to be the "INFO BOOTH" on the upper home side of the stadium. The Registration CommitteeThe responsibility of the registration committee is to make up Directors Packets and register bands as they arrive on campus on the day of the event. This committee should work closely with field show to ensure the directors are getting the most recent information. This committee should also display general information regarding band performance times, and maps of the campus, for the general public. The Ticket Sales CommitteeThe responsibility of the registration committee is to make up Directors Packets and register bands as they arrive on campus on the day of the event.
